The last time we were there was last October – eight months ago. At that time, I brought our laptop along to “work” because I was jamming to rewrite Lady Outlaw to send it a second time to Harlequin.
This weekend I was thinking back to that time and all that’s transpired since. I had no idea last fall that in January I would get “the call” about my book or that almost a year later I will have that published book in hand.
Would I have wanted a glimpse into the future as I madly rewrote my book, feeling both hope and trepidation? Do I wish I could have known what was to come this year? I don’t think so. It would have robbed some of the sweetness from those moments.
As much as I sometimes wish I knew what lay ahead in life, I’m grateful we rarely get to see very far down the road – that we have to walk in faith and trust. Because then we don’t shy away from the hard things that make us strong and help us learn, and the our victories and accomplishments are even more rewarding.

I love to go to Gettysburg. I go whenever I can get away for a long weekend. Also fishing for bass and northern pike in Wisconsin.
"If you were granted a glimpse at what was to come, what would you hope to see?" I'm a planner, so it would be sooooo tempting, but you're right. It's best not to know. We visit my inlaws in Kentucky every summer. It's a beautiful state, and a big change from Oklahoma where it is flat, flat, flat.
Sometimes I do. But I think not knowing what's gong to happen makes us work harder.
That vacation spot looks gorgeous.

I definitely find myself wishing I knew what was coming up at times…but like you, I don't think I'd actually like it if I did. There's something about being surprised…totally immersed in the moment…that I'd lose if I knew what was coming ahead of time.

Leigh – Funny thing is I never went there until after I was married. My husband's family has been going there for years. Now our kids will have those memories too.
I think I'd get choked up thinking about this monumental moment.
I every now and then think about talking to a psychic. My BF does it all the time and I love hearing about it. The only reason why I don't is then I'll feel like I have little faith, in me and the man upstairs.
I love to vacation in the keys. I wish we could go there, but we're doing Disney instead for the kids.

I've never been tempted to look into the future – not in a long time.
I've always wanted to find a regular place to visit – a cabin on a lake like the one we always went to when I was a kid. But then again, there are so many new places to visit!
Mina – Love that thought – that peeking into the future may decrease our faith in ourselves and God. And hey, we're heading to Disneyland this summer too! 🙂

I wish I knew part of the future. We are making some huge changes in our loves this next month and part of me wishes I knew how it will work out. Not all our choices have been the best in the past five years and I want this one to work out!
